bienvenido a buenos aires

alright! camera has been fixed and PP is back in action.

in the last four days, gmaps pedometer tells me i have walked mas o menos 22 miles. ouch. here is what these pequenapies have seen:

this bad boy is the pride of argentina. i think that literally no part of the cow goes uneaten, given that i have seen horrendous things on restaurant menus like rinon (kidney), higado (liver), and chinchulin (small intestine!!) as though it's no thang at all. this has also sadly prevented me from employing krystal's "surprise me" point-at-menu-item-and-order-blindly technique.

this is marina, a friend of mr. lichaa's i met on my second day in BsAs and a real-live argentine girl. marina suggested we meet for coffee, and offered to take me to the mall, to get starbucks. i felt so argentine. after coffee, she took me around to several nice hotels. here she is posing in the lobby at the four seasons.

here i am sitting, in a sitting room at the four seasons.

and here i am sitting outside the lovely park hyatt. marina and i chatted about how this is the perfect location for her wedding to raul, a boy she's been dating for 3 weeks.

and here i am trying to sit, in a very odd wicker chair.

i said bye to marina and took to the streets myself. here's a photo from a shop-filled street in a neighborhood called palermo soho -- a la Soho NYC.

palermo soho is muy hipster and artsy fartsy.

after cruising through palermo soho's calles, i stopped in coffee shop mamaracha for a latte and a breather. such a cute place.

and then later, for lunch, i went to a muy popular middle eastern restaurant called cheff iusef. i had some super delish humus with mushrooms and onions.

and how could a meal be complete without being handed the waiter's very own cd...of himself, singing in arabic. he bumped the cd on the stereo, but refused to do an a cappella for me (waiter by day, singer only by night).

after lunch, i headed to parque rosedal, a huge park in palermo with a lake, and paddle boats, and...

cute couples chilling and...

ducks!

so that's the recap. manana, plan is to go to usc-fan-owned bar to watch argentina v. peru futbol. and by "watch," i mean work on fulfilling ms. rozhansky's challenge :)

miss you much and leave you with this:

I´m jealous about the futbol game. I´m desperately trying to find a bar in puerto viejo to watch Us v. Honduras.

cute!! I love that waiter's cd! and thanks for the shout out on my technique for ordering food while traveling. When I went to argentina, every dish was like three or four meats on top of each other, even if you ordered carefully. buena suerte

hope you enjoyed the game. pretty dramatic. You know it´s a good game when an overweight ex-cocaine addict is inspired to do a sprinting belly flop in the mud in celebration.

Any updates from the futball game? (aka fulfilling my challenge?) Love the pictures...I hope you brought some good books to read at that cute park. Maybe challenge can be fulfilled there as well xoxo
