auf wiedersehen berlin!

guten tag dawgs, i'm writing to you on my last day in berlin.

berlin, you were so good to me. i am sad to leave you. i appreciated your nice, helpful, easy-going residents, your lack of smelliness, your abundance of actual street signs on streets (maybe you can teach spain a thing or two), your gigantic, gorgeous apartments, your muesli, your kaffee hausers (providing more than 2 sips of coffee -- another lesson for spain/france), your delicious 2 euro doner kebabs. you were wonderful. i will make sure all my favorite people visit you.

so, berlin was excellent. here come a lot of pictures.

thursday morning: delicious eggs/salmon, muesli/fruit breakfast with cheryl in cutesy restaurant

visit potsdamer platz: berlin wall remembrance/info site

the caption says: "people escaping from their apartment windows to the pavement on Bernauer Strasse -- and thus to West Berlin"

holocaust memorial

reichstag -- germany's parliament

berlin hauptbahnhof: beautiful, modern main train station, from where i leave to munich

Karl-Marx-Allee: many-miles-long boulevard built soviet style in the 1950s. huge, austere, intimidating buildings.

cheryl's adorable street in Prenzlauer Berg, formerly East Berlin
