a little of this and a little of that

hola chiquitos, i am writing what could be my last post from barcelona. krystal and i pick up our european hummer tomorrow and take the scenic road up the coast to france.

here's what we've been up to these last few days.

the fiesta i went to with chris last week in gracia moved this week to directly outside my window. it has been fun trying to fall asleep at 3am listening to country hits, like achy breaky heart, in spanish.

people really get down at these fiestas.

i decided if you can't beat em, join em. here i am busting a move in the middle of the night.

krystal got in the fiesta spirit too.

drinking coffee like real spaniards at a cafe by my apartment.

the next day, we headed on a 30 mile venture to park guell. as you can see, this map has been used a few times over the last two weeks.

3 hours later, we made it to the park.

i snapped numerous photos so ian can feel like he came too.

it was crazy hot and pequena pie was tired. so we planned a super speedy metro route to get to chris's house for lunch.

but, of course, we chose the line that is under construction. so we were forced to walk out the metro and down the street for about 20 miles. eventually, we found a metro station but had to make a connection at passeig de gracia. never transfer at this metro stop! unless you want to see subterranean barcelona for about 3 miles. we were a mere hour late to chris's.

but, chris has gotten used to my chronic getting lost in barcelona, and so we made it just in time for a yummy lunch with him and his friends.

after lunch, chris's roommate david took us to the 4 cats, picasso's old hangout.

we had a cup o joe each.

and then moved on for gelato.

the next morning, krystal and i headed to la playa. unbeknownst to me, krystal had purchased a blow up pool bed. when i found out, i gave her the best traveling companion of the year award.

about 45 minutes later, both of us were about to pass out from blowing up "verdita," little greenie. but we did it!

some of us used verdita only for pillow purposes.

others of us took it for a test ride in the sea.

it was the most fun i have had all year. although the slight wind current blew me down to africa, and resulted in a bit of a commute back to barcelona.

that night, chris took us to one of his favy bars called hook. here's krystal getting in the pirate spirit, with eye patch and hook.

so that's what we've been up to. can't wait to hit the road and see what adventures await! muah.
