marbella ella ella

D Frizzy is officially a blogger! Holler.

So picking up from my email, day one in Marbella was a hit. And, obviously, dramatic.

I left my hotel and went back to the bus station to figure out this bus strike business. I don't know what the hotel person was smoking because there were absolutely no problems with getting a bus at any time ever. So that was ridiculous/sweet.

I took the bus back to the center energized to start the day and relieved that all the problems were resolved. I hopped off the bus and charged toward town, and some guy offered to take me to the center. We walked about five steps when my right flip flop broke. Seriously. Ironically I looked at it when I was on the bus to the station and thought it seemed like it was about to break, but they are pretty new flip flops. So I walked through half of Marbella with one flip flip on, one flip flop off, to get back to my hotel and get another pair of shoes. I must have the most aggressive right thumb toe-next toe action since this is the second time this has happened to me in the last 2 months.

Okay, then I was ready to start my problem-free day. And I actually had no more problems!

I walked along the coast for about an hour and a half (thanks Ed!) and it was just miles and miles of little shops and restaurants and parks all along the sea. There were hundreds of topless and speedoed euros all over the place. I picked out the place I am going to park my uber white libraried body on the sand tomorrow morning.

After I was walked out, I headed into the Old City where there are endless teeny tiny narrow streets of white buildings and bougainvillea and wrought iron and cafes and shops and prettiness. I took like 4 pictures for other people vacationing with their friends (insert guilt trip), and checked out the super hot euro fashions. A surprising number of people have started talking to me in Spanish and I am digging that I look so euro.

Neways, this jet-lagged traveler is ready to hit the hay. Lots of love!

ed made me take this picture near the royal palace

sorry ed, this is the worst picture but it cracks me up every time! i too would look like this if a crazy girl came from LA and managed to break my skype, my wireless and then my entire computer, and also made me walk all over madrid to buy her an american-european electric converter.

we ate the best cherry gazpacho and creamy gazpacho i have ever had.

cream, butter, oil in a shell. oh and scallops. (it was delicious).

beautiful marbella

this is how the spaniards get the sand off their bodies.

my goal tomorrow is to get someone to rent one of these for me.
