gorgey porgey

hi ya'll! shockingly, the bus drivers decided to work on saturday, so i made it to ronda! and i am so glad i did.

the bus dropped us off around 4, and i asked an old fart i saw at the bus station how to get to my hotel. this guy was a total character -- around 60 yrs old, speaking really excitedly like this was his one moment to show a foreigner his home town, wearing an unbuttoned blue shirt with white chest hairs poking out (very euro), but whatever, he ended up walking me to my hotel so that was sweet. the whole time he was obsessed with the fact that i was from california, and only wanted to speak in broken english.

i got to my hotel and naturally had to wait 10 minutes before the receptionist came back from her cigarette break. she said she'd given me the best room in the house. i thought, right. so, i was amazed when i walked into my room, opened the curtains and saw this :

here are the rest of the day's highlights.

what are all these birds doing down there?

after 2 hours of walking up and down cobblestone, this turista was pooped.

where is amit when you want someone to peel you a cactus fruit?

at around 7 i went back to the bus station to buy a ticket to malaga, and of course it was closed. on my walk back this guy says to me, "do you know where you're going?" and i smile and say of course i do. and he says, "where are you from?" and i say, "los angeles." and he says "wow, i just met a girl from los angeles an hour ago, i took her to her hotel." i'm like -- old fart, "it was ME!" and he said "ohh of course of course you changed clothes!" so i ran into old fart again, just my luck. he asked me if i wanted a beer and i said i was tired, so he said, "ok tomorrow i wait for you outside your hotel at 9am, we get churros con chocolate, berry gud berry gud." my bus left for malaga at 9 - i wonder if he really came?

besos.
